June kicks off the Sounds of Summer with performances by 4 amazing original female artists! On Friday, June 8th see singer-songwriter Emma Arnold open for local rocker Kate Skales. Arnold’s originals create indie-infused folk songs, and Skales is known for her alt-rock timber and come-hither attitude. Then, on June 22nd, see rising country singer Melissa Lee open for beloved local legend, Sheena Brook. June 22nd also marks the announcement of the June Juried Exhibition People’s Choice winner!
Then, in July, see two eclectic shows featuring Florida favorites! On July 13th, enjoy performances from indie-jazz quartet, the Woodwork, and folk phenomenon Mountain Holler. Both artists performed this year at Gasparilla Music Fest, and now you can see them in downtown Fort Myers! At the end the month on July 27th, Curate SWFL takes over the Sounds of Summer stage for an unforgettable night of performances. This one’s staying a best-kept-secret until the date get closer, so stay tuned!
In August, take part in the final Sounds of Summer concerts of 2018! On August 10th, see last year’s winner of the Singer-Songwriter Competition, the Regulars, open for Bonita Springs reggae band, Roots Almighty. Plus, experience the Second Annual Singer-Songwriter Competition on August 24th. You can attend as a guest, or enter the competition for a chance to win recording time at Six Fingers Studios and a performance spot at the Island Hopper Music Fest!
