A surreal, sparkling world where our ancestor’s tales come to life as intricate images, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a colorful dream-like experience.
Winnie was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico.
She studied art at Artes Plasticas University of Guadalajara, music with maestro Eduardo Garciapena and dance at Escuela de Danzas Polinesias. The love for the different art disciplines has always been her inspiration and her way to express her points of view about life. The mix media techniques had played an important role in her art, being the acrylics and watercolors the one she likes the most. Among all the studies she has done the Haute Couture and the industrial pattern design had influenced the art expression. The whimsical surreal world has been the signature of her art.
Arrived to South West Florida in 2001, immediately after she started to work as a singer and percussionist with the maestro Steve Uscher and his Tropical Jazz Group.
Winnie had played at the Ritz Carlton Beach resort in Naples for the last eleven years and performances included Jazz society concerts in Naples, Fort Myers and Port Charlotte, CAPA Jazz festivals, and has worked regularly at hotels including Sanibel harbor resort, Naples Grand, La Playa and numerous restaurants and clubs in SouthWest Florida.
Winnie is also a Dance Instructor at Enchanted Ballroom in Bonita Springs, and has her own art business, Winnie Purple Designs where she sells her original jewelry, Clothing and art paintings.
