Savor a lunch and lecture with this best selling, critically acclaimed author! From 12pm – 2pm enjoy a gourmet lunch, a lecture from the author, and a question and answer portion that offers insights on the author and the stories they write. A book signing opportunity will also be available. Featuring a forward by Casey Walker, author of Anything I Want to Be, and lecture from Karen Thompson Walker, author of The Age of Miracles.

karen thompson walkerKaren Thompson Walker is the author of the New York Times bestselling novel, The Age of Miracles, which was a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Discover Award, an Indies Choice Award, and a Goodreads Choice Award. Translated into 27 languages, it was named one of the best books of the year by the Financial Times, Publishers Weekly, People, O., The Oprah Magazine, Kirkus, and Amazon. It was recently optioned for television by AMC and has been selected as a community read by several cities and universities. Walker’s TED Talk about fear and the imagination has been viewed more than a million times. She is a graduate of UCLA and Columbia, and she previously worked as a book editor at Simon & Schuster. In September 2017, she will join the creative writing faculty at the University of Oregon. She is at work on her second novel.

Casey Walker is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and received a PhD in English Literature from Princeton University.  He is the author of the novel Last Days in Shanghai and his writing has appeared in the New York Times, El País, The Believer, VICE, and The Los Angeles Review of Books among other places.  He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, the novelist Karen Thompson Walker.
