Thursday, March 22nd
The first day of the 2018 Fort Myers Film Festival kicks off with a full day of indie shorts! From 1pm – 5:30pm, experience an afternoon of short films selected by the Fort Myers Film Festival. One of the films featured is Endangered, a “spoofumentary” inspired by underwater films and the Grand Canyon. Then, the evening’s full length features start with The Age of Imitation at 6:30pm, a psychedelic love story between a musician and his student.
Friday, March 23rd
Start your weekend with a healthy dose of indie films! Friday’s showcase is packed with funny, inspiring, and dramatic short films and full length features. In a Sentimental Mood is a full length feature perfect for anyone who’s world has been changed by failure, love, and new acquaintances. Plus, enjoy several blocks of Fort Myers Film Festival short selections throughout the day.
Saturday, March 24th
Enjoy a Saturday packed with great movies! There are several films you will not want to miss. When it comes to short films, be sure to check out Talia and Kids News, running back to back beginning at 3pm. If you’re a nature lover, attend Lost Springs and The Arcade Creek Project: A Mosaic of Sustainability starting at 1:30pm. Plus, see two stand out feature films on Saturday night. At 5pm, experience Daddy Issues, a modern-day tragedy about a 19-year-old queer pixie, her estranged neurotic father, and the woman they’re both infatuated with. Then, at 8:25pm, in Testament, see a world quickly descending into ruin, and the one man who is asked to lead a people’s movement he’s not even sure he believes in.
Sunday March 25th
The films start early on Sunday, but they’re worth it! Freedom of speech is the center focus of Voices From a Falling Empire, beginning at 11am. Then, right after, stick around for Boys School, the harrowing story of the infamous Dozier School for boys in Marianna, Florida. Sunday also features the final shorts selections and a festival filmmaker’s panel. Take part in a full day of noteworthy films at the Fort Myers Film Festival!
