Whether capturing fleeting moments or crafting deliberate visual narratives, these students reveal how they see the world—and how they hope the world sees them.

Are you a high school student with a passion for photography? Do you see the world through a unique lens? We want to see your next shot.

The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center invites middle and high school students from across Lee County to submit work for The Next Shot, a juried photography exhibition spotlighting emerging young artists. This is your opportunity to share your creative vision, technical talent, and emotional insight with a public audience.

About the Exhibition
Step into the minds and imaginations of tomorrow’s photographers. The Next Shot is a captivating showcase of art photography by middle and high school students, celebrating bold compositions, thoughtful storytelling, and personal perspectives. From striking portraits and surreal scenes to quiet glimpses of everyday life, this show captures the heart and mind of a new generation of image-makers.

Eligibility

Open to Lee County students currently enrolled in grades 6–12 (2024–2025 school year).
Must reside in Lee County.

Guidelines

All submissions must be original photographic work created by the student.
Any style or subject matter is welcome: black & white, color, film, digital, experimental, etc. with no digital manipulation.
Limit: 3 entries per student.
Final selections will be juried based on creativity, composition, concept, and craftsmanship.
3 awards will be presented at the opening reception, selected by a panel of renowned photographers.
If selected, art has to be ready to hang.

I authorize the artwork described above to be shown at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center and for it and any accompanying Press materials to be utilized in promotion of the event and/or for marketing purposes. I agree with the Terms and Conditions of Website Use Agreement. I, the undersigned, hold the exhibition rights to the submission and am duly authorized to submit this artwork for consideration to be exhibited to the public. SBDAC will pay ARTIST for any works sold during the exhibit no later than 2 weeks after the close of the exhibition. The breakdown of funds is as follows: ARTIST will receive 60% of the sales price for any original work sold and SBDAC receives a commission of 40% of the sales price from all sales during the course of the exhibition. I agree with the authorization terms above.
