Originally from the UK, Cath travelled extensively before moving to the USA almost 10 years ago. Cath continually tries to share her unique perception of the world through being a creator. She is a painter, visual artist, photographer and poet.
The “Me, You and Them” Exhibition originated from the 2020 lockdown period, where Cath was isolated alone and took the opportunity to explore herself, producing her stark black and white self-portraits displaying loneliness, isolation and the ‘shadow side’ of herself, but also showing the open blank space for things which lie beyond all that.
It was in this blank space and isolated time of lock down which Cath found inspiration in the words and faces of others and began creating their portraits alongside her own.
This exhibition also features the contrasting style with the graphic lineal “words and faces” pieces, created in mixed media and portraying images of people living and passed who have inspired the artist through their incredible presence on this earth with books, letters, plays, poems, speeches, lyrics and music.
This dual focused and styled exhibition is the artist’s unique reflection on isolation which positively encourages us to find the place inside or outside ourselves where we are most inspired to life life fully.
