Theatre Kids Programs

Theatre Kids will offer two original productions for the fall semester for boys and girls in grades K through 4th. Boys and girls will take class, rehearse, and perform in separate shows.

Well-Mannered Fairytale

K – 4 Girls Only • Maximum 12 students accepted

A charming childrens book written by Ninette Nemitz • Adapted for children’s ballet by Laurie Coventry-Payne • Directed and Narrated by Douglas Coventry

Description:
Twelve young artists and dancers bring a charming children’s book to life on stage, learning at the same time that a true princess treats others with kindness, courtesy, and charity.

Curriculum: Basic Acting, Creative Movement, Pantomime, Theatre Direction, Theatre Etiquette

What class offers:
This workshop will open up a whole new world of creativity and fun for the twelve young artists selected to participate. From beginning to end, students will be fully engaged in learning what it takes to be an authentic young actress, a charming young lady, and a valued member of a cooperative theatre company.


Well-Mannered Knights

K – 4 Boys Only • Maximum 12 students accepted

Adapted from the Knight’s Code of Honor as described in the 14th Century by the Duke of Burgundy • Adapted for the stage by Laurie Coventry Payne • Directed and Narrated by Douglas Coventry

Description:
Twelve young gentleman – artists and pages of the realm – blend the 14th Century valor with the 21st Century through a series of stories told in real time about real people that depict the twelve virtues of a true knight and a true gentleman.

Curriculum: Basic Acting, Creative Movement, Pantomime, Theatre Direction, Theatre Etiquette, Storytelling

What class offers:
Using creative drama, movement, and storytelling, the twelve young artists selected to participate will be fully engaged in the practice of theatre and performance skills, learning at the same time, what it takes to be a valued member of a cooperative theatre company and a courteous, courageous, and charitable knight.

Registration Opens: August 1 Class Begins: September 13 Performance Date:  Monday, November 28, 2016 • 7pm

Tuition: $165  (This is a pilot program. Parents will be asked to review the program and offer suggestions. The price is reduced from $235)

All Students are required to sell 12 tickets at $12 each to the performance.

ALL Class Times: Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:30pm

Tuition: $165 (This is a pilot program. Parents will be asked to review the program and offer suggestions. The price is reduced from $235)

All Students are required to sell 12 tickets at $12 each to the performance.
