Overview
Enter a world where color, myth, and mysticism collide. Between worlds is a transformative art exhibition that explores the deep-rooted connections between humans and animals through the lens of ancestral traditions and imaginative visions. Drawing inspiration from the vibrantly surreal alebrijes of Mexican folk art and the sacred symbolism of Native American spirit animals, this exhibition invites artists to channel the essence of their inner creature guides, protectors, and wild reflections of the soul.
Each piece is a portal into a spiritual realm, where animal forms transcend the physical and become embodiments of energy, personality, and transformation. Expect a kaleidoscope of fantastical beasts, hybrid entities, and ethereal beings, each uniquely crafted to awaken instinct, ignite curiosity, and honor the timeless dance between the earthly and the divine.
Join us at the Capital Gallery for this powerful convergence of cultures, mythologies, and creative expression, and discover the animal spirit that calls to you.
Amanda Zirzow
a Florida-based artist, biologist, and avid scuba diver whose vivid paintings bridge science, spirit, and storytelling. Her work channels the energy of animal spirits—especially those of the sea—into powerful visual expressions that honor the deep, unseen connections between all living beings. From the coral reefs of the Florida Keys to the mangrove shorelines of the Gulf Coast, Amanda’s underwater experiences inspire dreamlike creatures and symbolic forms.
Blending ecological insight with intuitive creativity, Amanda’s art invites viewers to reconnect with their inner wildness and ancestral memory. In addition to her studio practice, she is a professor of biological sciences at Florida SouthWestern State College, a Shell Ambassador for the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, and a member artist at Arts for ACT Gallery. Her work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions and is held in private collections around the world.
Arielle Katarina
Arielle Katarina (AKAT) is a Florida artist and craft beer label illustrator. She loves to go on adventures, paint murals, and explore new places. She is a sea and space enthusiast and loves tropical fruit, fossils, and nature.
Arielle graduated with her BFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art & Design in 2011. Her work ranges in scale from graphic design digital pieces to large hand-painted murals. Her artwork can be found all over Florida and beyond.
She is most known for making colorful art with crispy linework.
She likes to create designs that are vibrant, fun, and a little rough around the edges. A lot of her flowy patterns were originally inspired by Peter Max and Heinz Edelmann (think Beatles, Yellow Submarine). As she was developing her style another influence was Ralph Steadman (Illustrator for Hunter S. Thompson) – she loved his energetic ink splatters and bizarre linework. Arielle’s work is sort of a modern mix of the two combined with tropical leaves and animals.

Keri Schultz
Keri Schultz is a visionary artist, astrologer, and healing guide whose work bridges the mystical with the deeply personal. Through cosmic symbolism, vibrant color, and intentional storytelling, she channels her lived experiences—surviving breast cancer, navigating trauma, and reclaiming purpose—into art that speaks to the soul. Keri blends her passions for astrology, spirituality and emotional alchemy to create pieces that inspire reflection, healing, and self-empowerment. Her creations are invitations to honor the shadows, embrace transformation, and reconnect with one’s cosmic essence.
Willow d Armas
Aside from her art, Willow enjoys nature, working out, music, family and her animals. She is a very happy Childless Cat mom. She loves exploring her witchy connections and often shows her visions through her art. Currently, she’s working on a Tarot series, Painting the Norse Gods, collaborating with her sister Bavy on the Universal power series, working with sister Mercy on charcoal collaborations and commissioned work.
Winnie Purple
With a whimsical palette and a surreal pop-art aesthetic, Winnie Purple creates vivid dreamscapes where animals, symbols, and storybook figures converge. Her work is a celebration of color and curiosity—where the childlike meets the philosophical. Winnie’s playful approach belies deeper commentary on the absurdities of modern life, femininity, and the fractured world of dreams.
