Overview

The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is serving up something saucy for our annual juried open call exhibition this June—art with extra cheese (or however you top it).

This year, we’re asking artists to think outside the (pizza) box—by using one as your canvas! Whether you paint it, sculpt it, collage it, burn it, fold it, or transform it entirely, your mission is simple: create artwork using a pizza box as your foundation. That’s right—the humble cardboard carrier of delicious pies becomes your medium for bold artistic vision.

Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, SBDAC pick, People’s Choice, and Sponsor’s Choice. Selected works will be displayed in the historic Grand Atrium of the SBDAC in downtown Fort Myers.

Submission Guidelines:

All entries must incorporate a pizza box as a primary part of the piece.
Any medium is welcome (2D, 3D, multimedia, interactive, etc.).
You may use a clean new box or a recycled one.
All works must be ready to hang or display.

I authorize the artwork described above to be shown at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center and for it and any accompanying Press materials to be utilized in promotion of the event and/or for marketing purposes. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee selection. I agree with the Terms and Conditions of Website Use Agreement. I, the undersigned, hold the exhibition rights to the submission and am duly authorized to submit this artwork for consideration to be exhibited to the public. SBDAC will pay ARTIST for any works sold during the exhibit no later than 2 weeks after the close of the exhibition. The breakdown of funds is as follows: ARTIST will receive 60% of the sales price for any original work sold and SBDAC receives a commission of 40% of the sales price from all sales during the course of the exhibition. I agree with the authorization terms above.
