Elementary-Aged Students & Parents Welcome!

Parent-and-Student Classes

This course is designed to engage with younger students. Our class is available for Elementary School students and parents! Due to age level, we are looking for both parents and students for this course. This is a four-session course…We will hold class once a week, for four weeks. We will learn how to play transitionary instruments – jFlute, jSax, jHorn and Clarinéo – which provide skills necessary to play real instruments.Classes run Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Bios:

Leonardo Bacigalupi serves as the Band Director at The Alva School K-8 in Alva, Florida, part of the Lee County School District. With nearly two decades in education since 2006, Mr. Bacigalupi brings a wealth of experience to his role, including five years as an Assistant Principal in Broward County.

Mr. Bacigalupi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Florida Atlantic University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Barry University. His incorporation of Gordon’s Music Learning Theory techniques has helped him successfully revitalize band teaching at his school.

Beyond his classroom duties, Mr. Bacigalupi contributes to the broader educational community as a mentor and teacher trainer, sharing his innovative teaching methods and leadership experience with colleagues across the district. Mr. B is also a performer and performs with community ensembles such as: The Bonita Springs Concert Band, and The Haffenkapelle German-American ensemble.

Alexander “Kross” Torregrossa (Mr. T) serves as the Elementary Music Teacher at The Alva School K-8 in Alva, Florida, part of the School District of Lee County.

Mr. T is a new and upcoming music teacher in Lee County. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree, with concentration in Instrumental Music, from Florida Gulf Coast University. During his time in college and beyond, Mr. T has served on staff for several high school marching bands and indoor percussion groups as an educator, arranger, composer, and show designer, for the last eight years.

Kross Torregrossa is the fourth-generation saxophonist in his family, and performs annually, with the Swing Street Sextet, on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. He also performs with community ensembles such as: The Bonita Springs Concert Band, and The Haffenkapelle German-American ensemble.
