Florida Artists Group – 78 th Annual Exhibition and Symposium

Merge, a multi-layered experience where members of the Florida Artists Group (FLAG), converge for the 78th Annual Exhibition and Symposium. From around the state, they bring together art in traditional styles and art that disrupts traditional boundaries, art that answers, and art that questions. FLAG encourages exploration of how disparate materials and perspectives interact with more refined traditional methods in an inclusive learning experience. This power-packed exhibit features 2D and 3D artworks in a range of styles, including realism and abstraction, created with media such as oil, acrylic, colored pencil, watercolor, clay, bronze, fiber, photography, digital art, papier-mache, and more. With such a wide variety of styles, materials, and viewpoints, this exhibition will be exhilarating. The Florida Artists group was established in 1949 by statewide art leaders, and it consists of 100 heavily vetted and highly experienced artist members.

Join the artists, Friday, February 5, at the exhibition opening reception and again on Saturday, February 6, at 10 a.m., in the galleries for a free presentation by the juror of the exhibition, who will speak on current art topics, followed by other leaders in the art community and some of the artists in the exhibition. The presentation programs will end around 1 p.m. The public is invited to join a Plein Air Paint Out with some of the FLAG members starting at 1:30.
