Overview
Jason “Sandman” Sanders
(born June 1982, Fort Myers, Florida)
Raised on blue-collar roots and a strong work ethic, Jason spent most of his life in construction operating heavy equipment, driving rigs, and moving earth by hand. That foundation of physical labor, machinery, and raw materials remains embedded in his work.
Rather than following a traditional path, he came into his practice without formal structure, building his approach the same way he learned everything else….through doing. Jason began focusing more seriously on his artwork in 2023, carrying with him a refusal to work within a defined style.
His work spans painting, metal fabrication, and mixed media, often merging industrial processes with bold imagery. Each piece is approached as its own story. Something to figure out, not repeat.
Driven by a resistance to being told how something should be done, Jason’s work rejects traditional boundaries and leans into instinct, process, and raw transformation.
